Welcome to the Good Bones Society

Our story

We find good homes for furniture with good bones.

I started Good Bones Furniture Rescue in earnest in 2020 when I noticed my neighbors were doing a lot of cleaning and leaving great stuff on the curbs. I lived in a neighborhood with a lot of old homes in rehab, and the dumpsters were populated with old wooden furniture and musty upholstered chairs. With a little fabric here or paint there, it could all be saved from the landfill. I was bored, and I had a certain set of skills. I bought a truck and a bunch of sandpaper and raided Joann’s clearance rack (RIP JOANN! 😫). A furniture flipper was born.

My rescue doggos (see Toby Beagler pictured here) always love exploring the new smells when I get a new piece to work on. And just like they’ve been given a second chance to show how wonderful they can be when they are well loved, a stray dining room table or bookshelf or accent chair can really shine with a little TLC.

Because we love rescue pets so much, when you donate a piece of furniture to Good Bones, we make a donation in your name to a local animal rescue!
